Who can cast a special vote?

You can cast a special vote if you:

  • enrol or update your enrolment after 1 August 2025

  • do not received a voting pack in the mail by Monday 22 September

  • have lost or damaged your voting pack

  • will be travelling during the voting period

  • are turning 18 after 1 August 2025 but before election day.

Where can I cast a special vote?

These special voting locations will be open throughout the voting period: 

  • Mount Albert Library (during library opening hours: Mon-Wed 9am-6pm, Thu 9am-7pm, Fri 9am-6pm, Sat 10am-4pm, Sun 12pm-4pm)

  • Mount Roskill Library (during library opening hours: Mon 9am-5.30pm, Tues-Thu 9am-6pm; Fri 9am-5.30pm, Sat-Sun 10am-4pm)

  • Parnell Library (during library opening hours: Mon-Fri 9am-6pm, Sat 9am-4pm)

  • Waiheke Library (during library opening hours: Mon-Fri 9am-6pm, Sat-Sun 10.30am-4pm)

  • Great Barrier Library and council service centre (during opening hours: Mon-Fri 8.30am-4.30pm)

  • Electoral Office (IES), ground floor, 167 Victoria Street West, entrance off Dock Street (during opening hours, Mon-Fri 8am-5pm; closed Sat-Sun other than Saturday 11 October, 8am-12pm)
