A self-employed researcher and genealogist resident in Mount Albert, I have been a community activist for many years, working closely with local neighbourhood and environmental groups. Following 18 years as a community board member and city councillor, I’ve served the last nine years diligently representing Owairaka on the Albert-Eden Local Board.
I’m a long-standing advocate for improving our public transport network (founder of the Campaign for Better Transport) and have led efforts to make our residential streets safer, particularly through traffic calming. I successfully lobbied for long-term funding to grade-separate railway level crossings. Better care of our urban streams has always been one of my passions.
I am strongly committed to opening up Chamberlain Park to local residents with playing fields, greenways, open spaces and restoring 1,060 metres of Meola Creek, while adding new golf facilities including a driving range.
