I am a senior lecturer in health education with over 25 years’ experience teaching and researching, with a focus on health and ageing.
My work led me to the USA, which made me very aware of the need to protect NZ’s public health system.
I will be a voice on Auckland DHB for strengthening this public taonga, for the benefit of all.
I have a commitment to community service with experience in governance. As the daughter of immigrants, I grew up in a bilingual world, so I empathise with new immigrants and ethnic minorities. I learned first-hand the importance of health equity—adapting health services to suit the needs of different groups.
My health background, years of work and life experience provides me with the skills to make a valuable contribution to the stewardship of Auckland DHB.
