I have experience and achievements on the Waitemata Board and Auckland Council in strategic thinking, problem solving and community development. For every proposal I ask: is it principled? Would it be cost effective? Is it in tune with residents’ views and interests?
I have lived in St Mary’s Bay, Herne Bay and Parnell and now an apartment in Hereford Street, Newton. I am the arts, events and community portfolio holder for the Waitemata Board. I am on the Ponsonby Community Centre, Karangahape Road Business Association, Central City Network and Council’s Central City Board. I have been a lecturer in Political Studies and in Planning at Auckland University. I chair the Problem Gambling Foundation and Auckland Community Housing Trust. These make me appreciate the issues facing apartment dwellers, students, social service providers, businesses and arts organisations.
