City Vision is celebrating the most successful election campaign since the organisation was formed in 1998 now that final elections results have been confirmed in the Auckland local body elections 2016.
With the counting of special votes current Waitematā Local Board member Vernon Tava has been returned by 10 votes after the provisional count put Vernon missing out by 15 votes behind Auckland Future candidate Jonathan Good. City Vision now has 5 out of 7 places on the Board.
In another positive result after the counting of special votes, Margi Watson joins City Vision’s Catherine Farmer on the Portage Licensing Trust.
Overall this means that City Vision is celebrating the following final results:
- Councillor Mike Lee (City Vision endorsed) returned for Waitematā & Gulf Ward
- Councillor Cathy Casey returned with a clear majority in the Albert-Eden-Roskill Ward
- City Vision retained a majority on the Waitematā Local Board with the election of Pippa Coom, Shale Chambers, Adriana Christie, Richard Northey and Vernon Tava
- City Vision retained the majority on the Albert-Eden Local Board with the election of Margi Watson, Jessica Rose, Glenda Fryer, Graeme Easte and Peter Haynes
- On the Puketāpapa Local Board, Roskill Community Voice increased representation to win five out of six positions with the election of Julie Fairey, Anne Marie Coury, David Holm, Harry Doig and Shail Kaushal
- On the Auckland District Heath Board City Vision Health won 3 out of 7 positions with the election of Jo Agnew, Robyn Northey and Michelle Atkinson
- City Vision’s Margi Watson and Catherine Farmer won two out of three positions on the Portage Licensing Trust
