The rugby season winds up this weekend for City Vision candidate Godfrey Rudolph (Albert-Eden Local Board – Maungawhau subdivision)I’ve enjoyed being engaged with community sports as a rugby coach at school, club and representative level. A highlight has been coaching my son’s (Godfrey Rudolph) under 8 rugby team this year. This picture was taken before his game last Saturday.
I encourage and support more people to become involve with coaching sports in the community, as this will contribute to more active young people in our neighbourhood and a healthier connected community.
Some of the Council playing fields have been of substandard condition during the year -boggy during the winter period and hard during the summer- so it great to see that the Local Boards are pushing for more sanding of fields and installing artificial turfs like at Seddon Fields. It has been a long but enjoyable season.
