Auckland Future’s Mark Davey resigned from the Waitematā Local Board on 16 October triggering the need for a by-election. The by-election will be run concurrently with the by-elections created by the resignations of Denise Lee and Simeon Brown following their election to Parliament. Voting packs will be delivered from Friday 26 January 2018 and voting will close at noon on Saturday 17 February 2018.
City Vision is running a open and democratic process to select a candidate for the Waitematā Local Board by-election. City Vision is the community voice representing the people of Albert-Eden Roskill and Waitematā & Gulf Wards. We also stand candidates from across the ‘old’ Auckland City for the Auckland District Health Board and for the Portage Licensing Trust in the Avondale area.
We are seeking a competent citizen to represent the Waitematā local communities and to work for the wellbeing of all Aucklanders. You may be a member of the Green or Labour parties, or a community independent with progressive views. You need to recognise, value and be able to work for City Vision policies.
Nominations close on Wednesday 8 November and a selection meeting will take place at 7pm Wednesday 15 November.
Please note that you must be a New Zealand citizen to stand for selection.
