The new Waitemata Local Board sponsored artificial playing turfs on Seddon Fields were delivered on time and on budget were opened on 5 July 2013. Within a very tight timeframe the Local Board acted quickly to increase parking capacity at Seddon Fields by funding a larger car park and bike racks for this very well used public facility.
The Western Springs Association Football Club as a whole has done a momentous job in driving this project for their neighbourhood and sporting code partnering with the Waitemata Local Board and Council to deliver the best outcome for all.
