The Mayor and the Shale Chambers. Chair of the Waitemata Local Board opened the Pt Resolution/Tauarua footbridge and headland stairway to the public on 21 May 2013. It was is a co-operative project between the whole of Council, Iwi and the local community, conceived and delivered within one year.
The old bridge had become unsafe only a year ago and now a stunning new bridge has been erected that allows the new electrified rail to pass under it. The view over the whole Auckland harbour and downtown is breath-taking!
